Yersterday’s long run

Yesterday was beautiful! The weather and temperature was absolutely perfect for a long run. It was around 20 °C (68 °F), and with the cool September wind blowing every now and then it got even better. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for this weather to stay until it’s winter, haha. I started my run at the old rail road.
on my run
I knew I wanted to do a longer run, so when I got to the end of the old rail road – where I normally will just turn around and run back, I kept running up another road. When you get to the top of the hill you come to this quiet little neighborhood. I love this place. It’s once of those “in the middle of nowhere” places where you rarely see other people and there are less than 10 houses around. I kept following this road until I came to some horses and I could choose to either keep running forward or taking another road to the left that goes into the woods eventually. I went left.
I followed that road until I got to Skapertjern. I haven’t been in the woods alone since that creepy event back in May, so this was a big deal for me, haha. I ran a short lap on the closest side of the lake before I turned around and started running back the same way I had come from.

Close to the end of my run I felt like I could have turned around and made the run even longer. It was a good feeling, which I honestly haven’t felt in a while. It’s nice to know that I’m getting back into a good running shape. My breathing has been a lot better lately, I don’t get mad at myself when I have to take walk breaks, after all my runs lately I’ve felt good about it even if it hasn’t been a very long run, I haven’t run very fast, or I have had to take walk breaks. As long as I run I’m happy. And that’s a something I have missed a lot! I really need to stop being so hard on myself.
post run snack
Almost 1 and a half hour run, I can’t complain. I haven’t been doing any long runs lately, and I figured since I have a half marathon coming up very soon I should probably start doing some longer runs again. For a post run snack I had a banana and a Greek blueberry yogurt.
