Working on it

Last week was not a good week for me, not at all. I have been feeling so crappy about myself lately and it just kept getting worse and worse. It’s been a very long time since last time it was this bad. But because I’m working really hard on getting back to a good place with myself things are already starting to feel and look brighter. I don’t have time to be in a weird mood, I’m going to San Francisco in 11 days! Haha.

I’m glad I’ve been able to turn things around a little for the better. If you’ve read my blog before you probably already know that all I need to feel better is to eat better and work out more. And that is exactly what I’ve been doing! On Monday I woke up and told myself I had to do something to change the direction things have been going lately. I’ve decited I am going to work out in some way every day until I go to San Francisco. I am also going to only eat healthy things – no frappuccinos, no chocolate milk, no random unhealthy snacking. I can save the unhealthy stuff for my vacation. I am a sucker for Hershey bars and I can’t wait to eat one again, haha! All I need right now is just to feel okay in my own skin and stop being so tired all the time.

After work on Monday I went for a run with my mom. The first 3 kms on the old rail road, then we went left and up into the woods. We ran around the lake, then ran back down to the old rail road path. Logged 10.35 km.
On Tuesday I went for a walk to Skapertjern with my mom. She is training for a triathlon so she brought her wetsuit so that she could swim in the lake when we got up there. While she was swimming around I was trying to avoid being eaten up by ants and just relaxed next to a family of ducks. It was a very nice 8.37 km walk. At the end of our walk we sneeked down to the strawberry fields and enjoyed some fresh strawberries (ssh!).
Today I had planned to wake up early and go for a run before it got too warm. That didn’t work, my boyfriend’s shower was clogged so I had to take a quick trip down to the grocery store to pick up some un-clogging stuff so I could take a shower after the run, haha. When I was finally ready to go for my run it had gotten really warm, but I didn’t mind. I’m just glad the summer weather has finally arrived – we’ve had the most bipolar weather lately. I was very surprised by how few people were outside on this wonderful day. The sun was shining bright, there were not a single cloud in the sky, 30 degrees celsius. Perfect summer weather! I loved this run. I ran good, I felt good, everything was pretty great. 12.15 kms later and I was back. I love how running make me feel so much happier.

    Be sure to enjoy anything you want while on vacation…and post lots of pictures! !
    I just love how your mom is training beast! LOL is that water still freezing right now? I started thinking how soothing that would feel after a run…
    Your trail pictures always give me the itch to run.

    • I absolutely will! 😀 There’s free wifi on the hotel so I’ll probably write and post pictures every day! 🙂
      Haha she’s awesome! 🙂 It’s cold once you get in but you get used to it pretty quick. This lake isn’t very big though, bigger waters are probably still pretty cold haha.

  2. Awe I wish that we could go on runs together.!! than we could keep each other positive and motivated.! I get the same way when I’m not eating healthy and running. I feel like blahhh. like a piece of lard. haha

    what it’s summer.? haha I spend so much time working and sleeping that it’s hard to even notice. But I like that my morning runs are in the daylight 🙂 unlike winter time
