Doctor’s Appointment, Running with snakes, & Starbucks.

Hey there! It’s been a while since I blogged now, wow. Last time I was on I said I was going to post my recap from Berlin Half Marathon very soon. That didn’t happen. For some reason I just haven’t been in the mood to write about it, but now I’ve kicked myself in the butt and I am going to have it done by later today or tomorrow. No matter what! I finally have a new laptop, so now I don’t have any reason not to. Guess I can just tell you what’s been going on since Berlin now, just to give you a little update. The recap will be up tomorrow.

After Berlin I took a week off from running. No big reason, the weather just sucked and the days it was nice I just wasn’t in the mood. Then I had my appointment at the doctor’s and I got a mole removed from my back, and apperantly you’re not supposed to get the stitches wet and you have to wait 10 days before you can take them out.. Which made me unable to run for those 10 days aswell. Yes, that pissed me off. I got the stitches taken out on Friday at the same time as I took some blood tests and allergy tests.
I had my first April run (and my first run after Berlin) on Sunday. It felt so nice to be running again, I missed it so much! I had planned on running in the hilly woods around here just to freshen up my trail running skills, but when I started running on the old railroad path the first thing I see is a huge snake in the middle of the path and that freaked me out so bad. It was probably the biggest adder I’ve ever seen! The weather has been amazing these last couple of weeks, and apperantly this means that the snakes will come out and ruin the day for everyone. I am terrified of snakes so it wasn’t even a question for me: I was NOT going to run into the woods at this point. I decited to run to Spikkestad instead, which ment I got a nice long run on concrete roads instead. The road is full of hills up and down, so at least I got some heavy hill training. It was a nice run, and it was the first run of the year in a t-shirt (that wasn’t on the treadmill)! I’m so excited about that, haha, I can finally run without having to layer up like a freaking eskimo and I will finally get some color on my skin again.
I have my 2nd doctor’s appointment this coming Friday. I’m getting 3 more moles removed, but this time it’s on my neck and I don’t sweat like a crazy person there when I run, so maybe I can run? I hope so haha, 10 more days of no running is going to kill me! The blood and allergy tests should be ready by then aswell, so hopefully I’ll get some good allergy meds that will help with all this pollen. And hopefully we’ll have time to take a closer look at my nose this time. My left nostril is kind of blocked by my nose itself which makes breathing through the nose a bit hard, would be nice to get that fixed somehow.
Starbucks Frappuccino
When it comes to eating healthy I haven’t been at the top. My friend, Mari, introduced me to Starbucks Frappuccinos a couple weeks ago and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Yes, the first time I tried a Starbucks Frappuccino was this April, haha, don’t judge me! Another friend of me, Julia, is currently also obsessed with these so we’ve been drinking them a little too often lately, haha. Bad for my body and my wallet.

What have you been doing lately?
Do you like Frappuccinos? What’s your favorite? So far I’m a fan of Mocha, and Java Chip.

  1. First time to try a Starbucks Frappuccino.! wow. well be prepared to be addicted to them for life. oh and try the white chocolate mocha flavor 😉 my absolute favoriteee.! I am actually drinking one right now, not from Starbucks though. It’s from Dutch Bros, a local place here in town. Not as good as Starbucks, but I had a Gift Card, so I can’t really complain 🙂
and glad that you’re back to blogging.!! and I am definitely waiting on that recap 😉
I haven’t been up to much exciting.. lots of work, running, and hanging out with my family, but I am also soo happy to have the sun back.!

    • I know, right :O Why have I waited this long?! I feel the addiction, it’s strong HAHA xD YUM, that sounds amazing :O I hope they have it, haha. Must ask Julia if she’s free on Wednesday xD For some reason I don’t like buying food/drink that is not from a grocery store alone. I’m weird like that.
Wiih, thank you! 🙂 Now it’s up, I hope you’re not disappointed 😀
Sounds pretty nice 🙂 The sun makes everything better 😉

  2. Hope everything goes OK with the removal of the moles – maybe this time you can run:)
Sometimes a break after a big race is exactly what you need!!!

  3. Still waiting for the race recap

Running has been slow going but that us expected coming off injury. Make sure you don’t get to excited about getting back, your health is the most important thing.

    • It’s up now! Go read, go read! 😀
True. I hope you’ll get back to where you want as soon as possible 🙂
Totally. I’m trying to start strength training aswell anyway so I can probably do that while I can’t run.

  4. I want to read about your race! and see pictures 🙂
I am with you girl about snakes, ewwww. I do see them this time of year and I go the other way lol
Yaaaa for a new laptop 🙂 Should be a bit speedier for you.

I guess it’s just as well to get all the cutting and healing over with close together!

I am healing up, trying to get some good runs in outside before it is a 100 degrees here 🙂

    • It’s up now, Karen! 😀 Go read, see pictures (not very many or very good ones, sadly), and comment :D<3
Haha I'm glad I'm not the only snake-hater out there 😀 They are so scary 🙁
A LOT speedier 😀 I keep getting suprised by how fast it turns on haha xD
Yea. These will do for now though, then I'll get more removed later.. probably in december or something when I don't run as much anyway 🙂
I always get so happy to hear that you're getting better and better 😀 And all your runs seem impressive to me :3 Haha. I hope this summer isn't as warm as last year xD
