Spring river run

It’s March, finally! The first month of spring!

After two weeks of being sick and not being able to do any running I am finally back in my running shoes. And I am really happy about this because Berlin half marathon is only 26 days away now, and I need all the training I can get. Lucky for me the weather was great today, the temperature was my friend and pretty much everything seemed to fall into place. I’ve missed my running path, I haven’t been here since before the marathon! I was a little worried that there might still be a lot of ice on the path, but it really wasn’t bad at all. More water than ice, and for once I was actually able to avoid drowning my feet in some random pit haha.

My only “goal” for this run was simply to get it done. Just a short, comfortable test-run to see how my path looks and to see where my shape is at the moment. Run, walk, run, walk. It was so much better than I expected! I did the 1st, 5th and 6th kilometer in 5 minutes each. Which I personally think is amazing considering I didn’t even try to run fast or anything close to it, AND I walked a lot. I strongly believe this is the result from all the intervals I’ve been doing with my mom on the treadmill! And the fresh air, there’s no doubt about it. God, how I’ve missed fresh air and runs without a thousand layers of clothes! The whole run was a total of 8,83 km. This month is going to be great!

  1. I’m glad you’re feeling better! The spring weather definitely helps shake off the last of a winter cold. It looks so nice where you are!

  2. Yes!! All that treadmill running will make you stronger 🙂 and you were quite speedy on it. Your pictures are beautiful! I can’t wait for some clear days and milder temps, rain here today and snow is dumping on us hopefully for the last time tomorrow 🙁

    I am jealous that it actually LOOKS LIKE SPRING! I could use one of those kinds of runs. I think treadmill workouts really help with speed and cadence, but once I get outside, the hills kill me. I could use the incline on the treadmill, but I never have!!

  6. You seriously have the most gorgeous views! My only goal for March is to get through my half marathon in 13 days which I have barely trained for -yikes!!
