Belated Merry Christmas!

First of all, belated Merry Christmas everybody! I hope you all had a great one!
(This is my brand new workout journal, you’ll probably see it a lot on here in 2015!)

I’ve finally had some things to write about, but stupid me forgot my laptop at my boyfriend’s appartment so I haven’t really had the chance to write anything. But now I’m back and ready to talk about my Christmas.
On December 24th – Christmas Eve – I went for a run in the snow with my mom.
It didn’t last very long for me. My lungs really can’t deal with the cold temperatures we’ve been having lately (even though it wasn’t that cold, my lungs are just being stupid..), so I called it quits just past 1 km and ran back home while my mom kept going. It resulted in a short 2,34 km run for me.
It’s better than nothing, and honestly I don’t think I would have been able to run much longer anyway. Not being able to breathe is really not fun at all, and I know I need to get it checked..
Then Christmas Eve-eve, oh my! We ate delicious food (thanks to my dad, who makes the best food in the world!), celebrated with family, and it seemed like everyone was pretty happy with their presents. I got a bunch of Lenny & Larry cookies, the Swix thermal shirt I wanted, a foam roller, new running gloves, socks and a bunch of other great things.
The next day, December 25th, we went to Stange to visit some relatives.
First on the list was aunt Liv (she’s actually my dad’s aunt). She’s one of my favorite people in the whole world, she’s just amazing! I want to make sure I see her as often as possible now because she’s 96 years old (turning 97 on January 4th!) and you never know, you know.. We drank coffee, ate cookies, talked about random things and looked through some of her old photo albums. Her photo albums are kind of awesome. After that we went to one of my uncles, who always throws a Christmas party. This year it wasn’t that many people there and we didn’t stay very long but it was okay.
December 26th my mom and I went for a treadmill run at Akropolis before I went to meet two of my friends for a sushi lunch (apperantly there’s no sushi places open on December 26th, so we just had pizza instead.. Now we know, haha!). And today, December 27th, my mom texted me and asked me if I wanted to do a short treadmill run with her again. I’m so glad she drags me along with her because I don’t think I would have bothered to go to the gym so much without her. And I do need these runs! I still haven’t gotten used to running on a treadmill so most my runs are short and slow, but I guess I’ll get the hang of it again soon.
I am so ready for the new year right now! I’m tired of all the Christmas goodies, I don’t think I’ve eaten a real meal since Christmas Eve and I’m so ready to start eating healthy again. I’m ready to start working on that six pack haha! I need to write down my New Year’s resolutions (it’s a tradition and I’m all for making lists!), get started on my half marathon training, and everything else.. This year isn’t over just yet though. On Monday it’s my mom’s birthday and on Wednesday (New Year’s Eve) I’ll be eating some more of my dad’s great food. I’ll make the most of these last few days of 2014. It has been a pretty amazing year for me.

Did you have a good Christmas?
Are you ready for 2015?

  1. Merry Christmas!!!
I hate running in the cold because I’m a wimp – sorry you have breathing issues in the cold.

  2. Gleder meg til Γ₯ lΓΈpe med deg i 2015.

  3. Merry Xmas! Wow I would totally run those snow covered routes, looks fun. I think we all had too much delicious food over the holiday lol.

  4. Love all your pictures, the capture in the car is great πŸ™‚ Very nice Nike gloves. It stinks the cold bothers you, I have issues in heat and can get pretty overheated. I used the treadmill a lot this summer, it does get better than not running. You can always play with the incline and do intervals…glad you had a nice holiday!

    • Thank you! πŸ˜€ It was so pretty outside that day! πŸ˜€ Thanks, I stole them from my mom hahah (not really, I just borrow them and don’t plan on giving them back anytime soon – or.. I got a new pair from one of my friends for Christmas so she can probably have them back now). I know πŸ™ Sorry to hear the heat is a problem for you.. Stupid temperatures hah :p The treadmill is a great 2nd choice, and I’m finally starting to get used to it πŸ™‚ Hope your Christmas was great too! πŸ˜€
