Small victories

So apparently I got two new PRs on my run today. A 2,31 km Cooper (12 min) and a 16:20 minute 3 km. I’m pretty sure last time I checked my Endomondo my Cooper was 2,30 km and my 3 km was 16:23 or something around those numbers, so the new PRs aren’t anything extreme, but it’s still pretty fun when you beat your own times. Even with walking included I can beat my PRs, wonder how much I can do if I don’t waste time on walking haha. Didn’t take any nice photos while running today so I just snapped a quick one of the sky while I was doing some post-run stretching and added a suiting caption. Don’t hate me, please.
I know it’s only been two days, but so far the training is going great. My abs are really sore after yesterday’s workout and today’s run was obviously a good one. This was short and messy, but I just really felt like posting something. I strongly believe it’s important to celebrate every little victory on your journey, even though you didn’t reach your main goal or anything like that it’s nice to have something to feel good about or proud of. Only 26 days left now!

Do you remember to celebrate the small victories?
How has your day been?

  1. Congrats on the two PRs! A PR is a PR!

This last year I seemed to have skipped over a lot of the small victories, but I plan to celebrate them going forward!

I absolutely love that picture of the sky. What a beautiful day! I’ve been stuck inside my office all day except for a small walk I took during lunch. I can’t wait to get home and get in a run! 🙂

    • Thank you! I know, right? ;D

Glad you’re planning on celebrating them more from now on 🙂 For me it makes it feel like the big victories are so much closer. Normally I just focus on my 5k or 10k times, but the Cooper and the 3k is just as important in many ways. So yay me 🙂

Thank you (I feel like I say that a lot haha)! 🙂 It was so nice to finally have a day with sun and a blue sky. Hope you had a great run after work! 😀

  2. I think it’s so important to celebrate the small victories! Like Kristina said, a PR is a PR – it’s progress!

I celebrate the small victories. That’s how you progress towards long term goals!
Your blue sky looks pretty, overcast and dull here…

  4. What the?!?! The only reason I come and read is because of the pictures lol j/k.

I am really bad celebrating the small victories. I get focused on the end goal and don’t focus on the progress. The blog has really helped but I could do a better job with that.

  5. Nice work!! I try to be mindful and celebrate hard efforts and PRs when I can. Even when I finish a long run I try to pat myself on the back for the accomplishment. It’s not always easy training and working hard when you are in it alone. Good for you for acknowledging your hard work and for feeling good about it. Makes it all the more worthwhile.

  6. 23 days until….
